Charlotte

May 31st, 2012

Charlotte is done and now on to Dover. I was a little surprised by some of the finishing order last weekend I figured to see a couple different faces up front in the end they way they ran most of the day. I guess that last caution cost a few big time.

I never talk about the goings on’s up in Washington but the jerk that wants to pull Military sponsorship from our cars needs to go climb back under his rock. They tried it before and it was voted down so I hope they do it again.

I have been going in about 3 directions so I haven’t been able to keep up much but I think I saw Didi was heading out for a little, so have fun Didi be safe and hurry back!

Happy retirement Dick Berggren!!!

Have a Great week…………..

Darlington

May 14th, 2012

Finally they can pass out the hats for the “200th Win” hats I bet there was one big party afterwards. Lady Luck sure seems to have her devil horns showing when it comes to Jeff. I think I know where Jimmy’s lucky horseshow is, it was in Jeff’s left rear quarter panel rubbing his tire. With Dale finishing 17th he still stays in 3rd in points. I think this is only the second time this year he finished outside to top 10.

I’m sure everyone saw the after race push and shove match between Newman crewman and Kurt’ crew. I have a feeling Kurt missed a few anger management classes lately. I’ve heard several stories as to what happened but cutting thru Newman’s pit sound like something Kurt would try. I bet when they look at everything nothing happens to either outside of a little chat in the hauler.

Our thoughts and prayer go out to thoughts hurt in the Williams F1 garage fire. I have seen several reports one said 31 injured and 7 transported to the hospital but only 1 was flown to a burn center. The 6 were treated and released.

Watch your TV Guide this week for the Pit Crew Challenge is this week and I’m sure Speed will have other shows leading up to the weekends action. Dale Jr. is going to have a special paint job for the All-Star race. Check Jayski for pics.

BTW Nascar is taking another shot in the dark to change the down force on the cars by messing with the side skirts. GGrrrrrrrrr…….

All I will say is sounds like a good way to let more air under the car to let them get air-born.

Have a Great week…………..

Talladega

May 7th, 2012

Here we go again that box of “200th Win” hats sit in the hauler. Sounds to me they need to leave them home almost seems like they’re a jinx.

Again Dale and Kasey had good weeks and Jeff finished 33rd and Jimmie 35th. You can tell by Jeff’s interview it’s really starting to bug him to say the least. I must admit he has a point Nascar needs to look at the overheating condition. With 30 to go many were overheating and it was only 86 degrees. What happens in July when it’s in the 90s?

After the race Tony had a very nice interview and explained just how much he enjoyed the race. LOL

Did anyone else notice how poor a job the clean-up crews did with the oil dry after the Lap39 restart? They left so much out there that Mike Joy yelled “Somebody’s blowing up” and then on second look it was just a major cloud of oil dry dust.

The only other thing was Ol’ DW started giving the excuse that some of the cars were starting to suffer vapor lock and heading for the pits.

Sorry DW but fuel injection cars with an in tank fuel pump pressurized fuel system make vapor lock all but impossible. Yes the block mounted fuel pump can cause vapor lock even in our passenger cars on real hot days. Here’s just a short part of an article from Nascar back whenthey started talking about using Fuel Injection reference vapor lock.

Vapor lock was a common occurrence in NASCAR, since the cars use gasoline and carburetors prior to the 2012 season. With the introduction of fuel injection to NASCAR, vapor lock has been eliminated.

Vapor lock is also less common in other motor sports, such as Formula One and IndyCar racing, due to the use of fuel injection and alcohol fuels (ethanol or methanol), which have a lower vapor pressure than gasoline.
